Research
The research lab performs specialised work for other CFTC departments and internal clients. It offers its know-how on organic chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, etc. in the form of process and product support to solve problems of a more fundamental nature and develop innovations in many areas.
The research and development work for Cosun Biobased Products is one of the Research department's main activities. It centres on the development of non-food applications based on renewable raw materials in general and Cosun's residual agricultural flows in particular. Examples include fibres for composites, building blocks for polymers and additives for plastics. The department also carries out research to support the production and use of carboxymethyl inulin, a multifunctional product with a wide range of applications as an environmentally-friendly scale inhibitor.
