Since September 6, the internet consultation has been opened on the draft 7th Nitrate Directive Action Program drawn up by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Cosun endorses the importance of good water quality. However, the proposed measures to achieve water quality targets are too generic, miss out on farming practice and have a major impact on growers’ earning capacity, processing costs and the competitive position of our sector.
In the debate with the House on 15 September, Minister Schouten specifically indicated that she was looking forward to the responses to the internet consultation and that she wanted to involve them in the further development of the 7th Nitrates Directive Action Programme. That is why Cosun is calling on its growers to participate! Let your voice be heard, together we stand strong for connection with farming practice!
