Therefore, a big ‘thank you’ to all growers who commit themselves daily to the production of crops such as potatoes, beets and chicory and thus ensure food security. In addition, our farmers invest in innovative developments and environmental solutions, and make an important economic contribution.
Arwin Bos, member of the Board and arable farmer from the Haarlemmermeer, says thank you to all arable farmers. “The food on our table is only there thanks to the efforts of all arable farmers who ensure that the crops are produced. Every day they work hard with passion and perseverance.” says Arwin. Koen van Gendt received the cake. Koen is the fifth generation of arable farmers on their farm, where they grow potatoes, beets, onions and grais.
Thank a Farmer day is an initiative by Boer Bewust and is celebrated during the Dutch Food Week. Cosun is partner if the Dutch Food Week, which takes place from 9 to 16 October 2021. In this edition, the positive power of food is shown during all kinds of events throughout the country. Together with farmers, (local) governments, inspiring food entrepreneurs and green education, we put healthy food, sustainability in the chain and good living in the spotlights. Themes that are highly relevant to Cosun. Together with our growers and colleagues from our business groups Aviko, Cosun Beet Company, Duynie Group, Sensus and SVZ, we commit ourselves every day to the production of plant-based foods, food ingredients and much more.
