On 23 March 2022, Johan van Driel has announced to step down as chairman and member of the supervisory board of Coöperatie Koninklijke Cosun U.A. as of 1 April 2022. He did this during the meeting of the Members Council. Vice-chairman Theo Koekkoek will temporarily fulfill the duties of chairman.

Cosun and JINC work together to improve job opportunities

As of this week, Cosun is a partner of non-profit organization JINC, an organization that is committed to supporting youngsters in getting a good start in the labor market. By committing itself as a partner, Cosun can contribute to creating equal opportunities for Dutch youth. Together with JINC, Cosun introduces children living in Breda to the food chain and various roles within the company.

New: Plant protein isolate with neutral taste

At the FIE fair in Frankfurt (30 November to 2 December 2021), Cosun will, in line with its new strategy, introduce a promising, new product: A Protein Isolate from Fava bean. It’s produced climate-friendly, with a unique combination of properties, including neutral taste, high solubility and good nutritional value. “Fava Protein Isolate offers all the protein content and functionality needed to create a high quality consumer product.”

In recent years, we have paid increasing attention to future-proof crops within various branches of our organisation. During discussions with growers and our colleagues at other Cosun companies, we have noticed that certain topics, relating to profitability, the image and sustainability of crops, affect farmers across the board. To increase our clout and make our crops even more future-proof, farmers have joined forces together with Cosun companies and external partners, launching the ‘Groeikracht’ initiative.
